AIR OFFICER SCOTLAND VISITS 1192 (KIRKCALDY) SQUADRON
The most senior Royal Air Force officer in Scotland, Air Commodore Harry Atkinson, the Air Officer for Scotland, visited 1192 (Kirkcaldy) Squadron (Sqn) Air Training Corps on 29 Jun 10 to witness their activities and to see first hand the Squadron’s progress. The cadets enjoy a broad spectrum of activities that develop qualities such as teamwork and leadership, including navigation skills, music and air experience flying. Air Commodore Atkinson also presented several awards to the cadets with Corporal Abbie Durham winning the ‘Best Cadet of the Year’ Award.
Air Commodore Atkinson said “It was a great pleasure to visit with 1192 (Kirkcaldy) Sqn. I do not mind if these cadets go on to join the Armed Forces or not, what I do know is that they go on to become better citizens by virtue of their time spent with the Royal Air Force.’’
